Independent effectiveness certification (NSF, IAPMO, WQA) is a strong plus, not a baseline requirement. It is what determines this A, B or C grouping: the stronger the independent proof behind a filter's removal claims, the higher its group.

The Aluna is often sold with the basic MAXTRA filter (taste/limescale only), not the MAXTRA PRO. Without the PRO filter, no NSF 53 for PFAS/lead/pharmaceutical residues. Physically identical to the Marella, but the standard filter type differs.
